Working closely with the Human Resources Business Partners, the HR Summer Student will provide
Administrative Support in relation to leave management activities. The HR Summer Student will attend meetings, prepare employee correspondence, facilitate the sending, tracking and filing of correspondence, update tracking spreadsheets & HRIS system data. This is an excellent opportunity
for an HR student looking to gain hands-on HR experience while receiving mentorship from HR Business Partners and Managers.
This is a Temporary Full-Time position based out of our Waterloo office.

This position offers a competitive compensation grid, based on academic year level.
The starting rate for this position will be $18.00.
Works with HR Business Partners, Employee Services & Benefit team members to support leave management activities
Updates and maintains tracking spreadsheets to ensure accuracy of information
Attends meetings with the HR Business Partners to take notes and supports follow through on action items
Drafts employee letters for HRBP review
Facilitates the sending of registered mail and tracks status/delivery of mail
Opens, sorts, dates and distributes incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally
Copy, record, distribute and files documents (in employee files, and electronically within the HRIS system)
Answers telephone and electronic inquiries and relays telephone calls and messages
Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Currently enrolled in a Human Resources college or university program and returning to school in September.
Strong writing, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated interest in healthcare.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work effectively independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Solid computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail.
Clear Criminal Record Check.
In addition to providing home-based personal support, rehabilitation, therapy, nursing and palliative care across Ontario, CarePartners also serves the community through clinics, transitional care units, and provides relief in nursing homes and shared care settings. Through our Community Nursing Services outreach program, we’ve been organizing medical care and clinics in countries with poor access to health care since 2009.
