Part-Time Ramp Attendant
Windsor International Airport (“YQG”) is currently looking for a Part-Time Ramp Attendant to join our ground handling team. We are looking for a result oriented, reliable, and highly adaptable individual that enjoys tackling various tasks in a team environment. Whether handling baggage or freight, or operating complex loading equipment, the Ramp Attendant plays a key role in ensuring that the aircraft are ready for a safe and on-time departure.
Duties:
Reporting to the Manager of Ground Handling
Drive and operate ramp servicing vehicles and equipment.
Marshal aircraft to gate positions for passenger boarding and deplaning and for loading and unloading cargo and passenger baggage.
On-load/off-load cargo and passenger baggage.
Perform the necessary wheelchair lifts.
If required, remove ice, snow, or frost from the aircraft’s surface.
Responsible for grooming aircraft cabin
Perform lavatory servicing.
Available to attend mandatory training when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a recognized high school diploma or OSSD equivalent
Available for shift work and irregular work hours- early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
Able to lift heavy objects unaided and repetitively weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kilograms).
Willingness to work under various climatic conditions.
Capacity to work within strict timelines in order to maintain on-time departures while ensuring safety at all times.
Eligible to work in Canada. If you hold a work permit, it must be valid for a minimum of 12 months.
Possess a valid driver’s (“G” designation) license.
Must hold or have the ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Transport Canada Airport Security Clearance.
Candidates will be required to provide a successful police clearance and subject to a medical evaluation.
Wage Rate
YQG provides an hourly wage of $18.55 in accordance with the collective agreement. This role includes a six-month probationary period.
