We are looking for an Yard Person to join our team. We are seeking enthusiastic, hard-working, customer-oriented individuals who can work in a team environment. The Yard Person is a vital member of the team and is responsible for the yard operations.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the Branch Manager and Sales Team.
Loading and unloading equipment onto trailers or trucks using equipment, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
Ensure new equipment is stored properly and equipment ID numbers attached to each unit.
Ensure Parts for new equipment are clearly marked and stored in proper location.
Securing the equipment to the trailer or truck to ensure that it is safe during transport.
Inspecting the equipment to ensure that it is in good working order before transporting it.
Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including the date, time, location, and equipment delivered.
Complying with all regulations related to the transportation of heavy equipment.
Performing minor repairs and maintenance on the equipment as needed.
Safe operation of delivery vehicle
Providing exceptional customer service
Familiarizing customers with the features and benefits of their new equipment on delivery
Other duties are required·
Qualifications
Previous experience in equipment delivery
Knowledge of heavy-duty trucks/equipment is an asset
Mechanical understandings, or the willingness to learn
Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word/Excel, email and internet
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Strong problem solving and listening skills
Strong sense of urgency
Commitment to ongoing sales training
Ability to work independently
Strong in time management; sets and meets priorities and long-term goals
