Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Wholesale Consultant with a strong background in the grocery and food distribution sector. This role will focus on expanding wholesale channels, strengthening relationships with retailers and restaurants, optimizing product selection and sales performance across grocery accounts. The ideal candidate understands restaurant management, C-store requirements, and the fast-paced nature of perishable and packaged goods. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute wholesale growth strategies within restaurant, grocery, and specialty food channels Identify and onboard new retail partners, including independent grocers, specialty foods, restaurants and distributors Manage and grow existing wholesale accounts, ensuring strong sell-through and long-term partnerships Advise on product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional planning aligned with grocery retail cycles Analyze sales data, margins, and category trends to optimize performance across accounts Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate forecasting, inventory levels, and on-time delivery, especially for perishable goods Support product launches, seasonal programs, and in-store promotions Negotiate pricing, contracts, and trade spend agreements with buyers and distributors Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, labeling standards, and retailer requirements Represent the company at industry trade shows, food expos, and buyer meetings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Food Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3–5+ years of experience in grocery wholesale, food distribution, CPG sales, or B2B sales/consulting Strong understanding of grocery retail operations, including category management and assortment optimization Experience working with distributors, brokers, and retail buyers Knowledge of perishable vs. non-perishable product handling and logistics Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills Proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and CRM systems Preferred Skills Existing relationships with independent retailers, restaurants or food distributors Experience with perishable products like meat, seafood and produce Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP principles) and regulatory compliance Experience managing trade promotions and merchandising strategies Key Competencies Market and category insight Strategic account management Data-driven decision-making Supply chain awareness Adaptability in a fast-moving consumer goods environment What We Offer Competitive base salary plus commission Supportive team environment Opportunity to work in a diverse and multicultural grocery operation Excellent career growth opportunities
