Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and other trades to coordinate equipment moves and installations between facilities. Assist with installation, alignment, and setup of equipment at the new facility location. Apply mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills to support equipment repair, installation, and preventive maintenance as required. Use PLC and electrical troubleshooting skills, where applicable, to help diagnose and resolve equipment issues during the move and setup. Travel between the Langley and Agassiz facilities as needed to support the consolidation activities. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with welding, fabrication, and industrial equipment. Provide guidance and informal leadership to team members when needed, contributing to a collaborative and motivated team environment. Work both independently and as part of a tight-knit maintenance team to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Be available for occasional overtime to support project milestones and critical path activities. Essential Skills At least 5 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and blueprints. Strong welding and fabrication skills focused on custom, non-production work. Capability to travel between the Langley and Agassiz facilities as required, while being primarily based in Langley. Willingness to commit to a 4-month contract assignment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate others in a team setting when needed. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop custom solutions. Positive attitude and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Millwrighting or broader mechanical experience is an asset. Red Seal certification as a welder or fabricator is an advantage. Previous experience working with highly customized industrial or heavy manufacturing equipment. Background in repair and preventive maintenance within an industrial environment. Demonstrated ability to work on unique, one-off fabrication projects that require innovation and adaptability. Why Work Here? You will join a close-knit, family-style maintenance team where collaboration and mutual support are highly valued. The role offers a higher wage due to its contract nature and provides the chance to work on a unique, large-scale consolidation project that will stand out on your resume. You will gain exposure to highly customized industrial equipment, broaden your technical experience, and contribute to a meaningful transformation of operations. The environment supports independent work as well as teamwork, with opportunities to take initiative, lead, and apply creative problem-solving. Work Environment You will work primarily indoors in an industrial manufacturing setting as part of a maintenance team of about five people, including both ticketed and non-ticketed electricians and millwrights. The team operates in a tight-knit, supportive environment with a strong sense of camaraderie.
