This position involves safely performing a variety of metalworking activities including welding, cutting, fabricating, grinding, and painting in both structural and non-structural applications. The successful candidate will work on fabricating and repairing solid waste handling equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all work performed. Key Responsibilities• Operate welding equipment to fabricate and repair new and used solid waste handling equipment • Perform metalworking tasks including welding, cutting, fabricating, and grinding • Repair and prepare equipment for painting, including painting assigned equipment • Maintain accurate service and repair records • Maintain inventory of shop supplies • Keep a clean and organized work area in the shop, job sites, and assigned vehicles • Assist other shop employees with repairs and general duties as required • Inspect and maintain assigned hand tools and equipment, reporting any issues to the Shop Manager • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards • Follow all company policies and applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations • Attend required safety and branch meetings Requirements• High School Diploma or GED preferred • Certification in basic welding skills and/or minimum 2 years of welding/fabrication experience • Ability to meet safety-sensitive job requirements according to company standards • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision• Steel toe boots required • Employees must provide basic personal tools including a welding shield and basic hand wrenches Nice-to-Haves• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain visual focus on tasks • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing • Experience working in a shop environment Schedule• Monday to Friday • Start time: 7:00 AM WHAT WE OFFER• Wages $22/hrs + 4% vacation pay • Weekly Direct Deposit • Opportunity to work with a skilled and supportive team REFER TALENT.
