Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder / Fitter to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you will manufacture and fabricate finished metal products, interpret blueprints, and perform high-quality welding across various positions and materials. Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly: Read and interpret fabrication blueprints, schematics, and drawings of large complicated fabrications. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to welding using measuring tools like squares, calipers, and rulers. Welding Operations: Perform MIG, TIG welding on mild steel, and other alloys in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Quality & Testing: Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate weld quality, check tolerances, and ensure compliance with specifications using straightedges and templates. Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and maintain tools and welding equipment. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to all company health and safety regulations, and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience in welding, manufacturing, and metal fitting. Education: College or technical trade school diploma in welding is required. CWB certification is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, engineering schematics, and work orders. Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG (GTAW). Needs to understand heat distribution in reference to distortion of product. Solid mathematical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and manual dexterity. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Physical Requirements: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, stand for extended periods, and handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) in a physically demanding shop environment.
