Job DescriptionJob Description Onsite Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager – Ontario Locations: Barrie, Kingston, Whitby, Ottawa, Peterborough (Hybrid) Compensation: $100,000 – $135,000 annually (commensurate with experience) A well-established consulting and engineering firm in Ontario is seeking an experienced Onsite Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager to join their Water & Wastewater group. This role is ideal for a technical leader with strong experience in onsite sewage system design, hydrogeology, rural land development, and environmental engineering. You’ll lead projects end-to-end, manage client relationships, provide senior technical oversight, and mentor junior staff across multiple Ontario offices. Key Responsibilities Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation Oversee and mentor engineers, geoscientists, technologists, and technicians Conduct and supervise field investigations in compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements Analyze hydrogeological and wastewater data and prepare technical interpretations Prepare and review engineering evaluation reports, design reports, drawings, and specifications Design onsite wastewater/septic systems (small and large subsurface disposal systems) Complete mass balance and nutrient dilution calculations for Reasonable Use Criteria Prepare environmental approvals documentation (ECA submissions) Ensure project delivery meets schedule, budget, and quality expectations Support client retention, relationship development, and business growth Manage billing, project financials, and technical quality assurance Travel to project sites and meetings as required Qualifications 8+ years of consulting experience in Ontario Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or Wastewater Engineering Licensed P.Eng.
