Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
We are seeking an Order Picker / Warehouse Worker to support the ATS / Lateral Systems area. This position involves primarily picking threaded rod and related components for customer orders. The role is specialized due to the handling of long, awkward, slippery rod materials and requires operating a stand-up Crown forklift in confined spaces.
Responsibilities
Operate a stand-up Crown forklift/order picker to pick and move rods by order, including various sizes, lengths, finishes, and strength types.
Hand-pick individual rods when necessary.
Open bundles, count pieces, and replenish or pull from bins.
Use leverage and safe handling techniques for awkward rods.
Wrap and secure picked material onto skids.
Pick related ATS components when needed.
Take photos of completed rods/components on an iPad and attach them for order verification.
Support general warehouse picking when the ATS area is less busy.
Assist with inventory count during inventory periods.
Essential Skills
2 years of experience operating a Crown Order Picker Forklift.
Forklift certification - Class 2 / Electric.
2 years of order picking experience.
Good English communication skills (comprehension, spoken, written).
Experience using an RF scanner.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience with inventory, packaging, loading, and pallet jack operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SAP is a plus.
Experience in similar environments (rebar, steel, lumber) is beneficial.
Willingness to learn ERP/SAP systems.
Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Patience and teamwork skills.

Work Environment
The work environment is an active, noisy, and fast-paced manufacturing warehouse that is organized and clean. The ATS rod area involves handling long materials stored in racks and on pallets, requiring skillful forklift operation. The job can be challenging due to the current rod process but is expected to become easier with upcoming changes in rod lengths. The position involves handling awkward, dirty, and sometimes slippery rods, with some heavy lifting required. Candidates must be comfortable with manual handling tasks and dirty materials. Protective gloves are required, and PPE like eye protection is provided. The dress code includes STWB shoes, jeans, and a tee shirt or sweater, with no shorts or tank tops allowed. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility needed.
