As a member of the Warehouse Group, you will be responsible for performing multiple tasks in any combination and concentration of the mentioned areas and will rotate through all or most of the processes rather than being assigned to a specific task. Warehouse Associates must be able to work as part of a team.
Desired Skill Sets:
1 year of experience in manufacturing and warehouse environment
Prior Forklift Driving experience; Forklift Certification
Safety mindset; knowledge of safety procedures and practices
Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, quality and safety documents, or other information critical to job performance; strong communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule with overtime as needed
Prior ERP system experience (ORACLE, SAP, etc.); computer literacy
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the customer in mind
Demonstrates strong leadership skills
Manual dexterity for using hand tools to perform essential functions
Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High-school diploma or GED or equivalent
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes. Depending on the task or environment, you may also be required to wear additional gear such as hats or other head coverings.
Must be willing to work in a tobacco-free environment
Must be willing to take a drug test, physical, and submit to a background check as part of the selection process
Be willing to submit to random drug tests
Must be willing to work as necessary to meet requirements of the position, including the ability to work occasional weekends and scheduled overtime
Must be able to adhere to standards, do a quality job is a safe manner and within acceptable time
Every employee will be an in process inspector
What will your typical day look like?
Warehouse may include but is not limited to the following:
Receiving, order picking, packing (wrapping, crating, labeling), and shipping of both large and small materials
Operate various forklift trucks, and other material transport equipment (cranes, tuggers, pallet jacks, etc.) as needed
Loading and unloading of trucks via forklift or pallet jack
Parts counting, including inventory audits and cycle-counting
Utilize ORACLE and other various PC and web applications to review, enter and edit data
Generate shipping labels, packing slips, etc. and verify accuracy
Engage in activities to prevent loss or damage of materials
General housekeeping of warehouse
Read and interpret pick tickets, packing instructions, safety alerts, drawings, or other communications as needed
Work with other Warehouse Associates and Support Staff on improving warehouse processes through team meetings; promote climate of cooperation
Perform all activities in a manner that meets Wabtec Corporation standards for integrity, safety and quality.
What about the physical demands of the job?
Must be able to complete some operations at heights up to 20 ft.
Must be able to climb and complete some work on ladders.
Must be able to lift material up to 40 lbs.
Must have ability to properly use and care for assigned tools and equipment.
The starting hourly rate of this position is $22.82/hour (up to $23.29/hour after 6-month progression and $24.03/hr at 4 years of service) with additional night shift differential of $1/hr when working 2nd shift hours.
Available shifts:
Shift availability is dependent on business needs.
4-day, 10-hour work week: 4-day (Monday through Thursday) 2nd shift hours are 3:15PM – 1:45AM. Must be able to work scheduled shift hours.
