Warehouse Associate / Material Handler – Temporary Contract
Location:
2865 Argentia Rd, Units 4-5
Mississauga, Ontario L5N 8G6
Hours
8 hours per day
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with a 1-hour lunch)
Pay rate: $22 - $24 per hour
Position is temporary – immediate opening for approximately 5 months
, until the end of January, at which time the assignment will be re-evaluated. The position may be extended, but there is no guarantee.
Responsibilities:
Perform
general warehouse duties
, including
order picking
,
packing
, wrapping, and
labeling
Load and unload trucks
safely and efficiently
Operate a
hand pump truck / pallet jack
Receive and process warehouse stock
, including unpacking, put-away, tagging, and reporting discrepancies or damaged products
Perform
shipping and receiving
activities in accordance with established warehouse procedures
Regularly use
hand tools
to safely open and close crates
Maintain logs and documentation to support company
record-keeping
requirements
Scan and file paperwork
and assist with warehouse documentation
Maintain a
clean and safe working environment
, including sweeping, tidying work areas, and disposing of garbage
Perform
cycle counting
,
inventory control
, stock verification, and other inventory-related tasks
Assist with
material handling
and movement of products throughout the warehouse
Follow established
warehouse safety
,
PPE
, and workplace procedures
Perform other warehouse and operational duties as required
Qualifications:
Must be
legally permitted to work in Ontario
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous
warehouse experience
,
production experience
, or experience in a similar distribution or material-handling environment
Strong
communication skills
and
interpersonal skills
, with the ability to work effectively as part of a
team
Basic
computer skills
, including Email and
Microsoft Excel
Ability to accurately complete warehouse paperwork, scanning, inventory records, and basic data entry
Must provide own
CSA-approved safety shoes
; safety glasses and other required PPE will be provided
Ability to regularly walk, stand for extended periods, stoop, and crouch
Ability to frequently
lift and move up to 25 lbs
and occasionally
lift and move up to 50 lbs
Reliable, safety-conscious, organized, and able to perform duties accurately in a fast-paced
warehouse environment
