Location: Mississauga, Ontario, located at Erindale Park. This position must be available in-person. Employment Type: Independent contractor opportunity. Schedule: Mississauga Festival: September 11-13, 2026 There will be some online training/information sessions leading up to the event. September 11, 12 & 13 are full event days. Compensation: A flat rate of $1,500 for the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival event weekend! Our flagship property is the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival which is now the largest comedy festival in Canada. Our goal is to achieve excellence in all our operations while spreading laughs and joy all across the country. The Role: Are you passionate about community engagement and outdoor events? As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of volunteer coordination during the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival. This includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising our talented group of volunteers to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. This role requires excellent organization, superior people management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain and grow volunteer base through outreach to individuals, community-based organizations and groups, colleges/universities, and corporations as needed. Work closely with all divisions of the festival to ensure the correct volunteers are in place. Assist with the development and maintenance process to assess the interests/skills of volunteers and match with appropriate activities. On-site management of volunteers before, during and after the event. Answer questions from volunteers leading up to the event (in-person, telephone, and email) ensuring they are well briefed and the festival is represented professionally. Trixstar email address to be provided. Assist with the creation of schedule and manage Bloomerang for recruitment process, ensuring volunteer positions are sufficiently filled. Maintain daily volunteer scheduling and database. Provide accurate and timely volunteer data and volunteer-requested reports. Attend and participate in regular meetings with Volunteer Manager and a post event review meeting. Guarantee that volunteers enjoy a positive experience! Qualifications : Volunteer management experience is an asset. Events experience is an asset. Experience working with Boomerang (INITLive) software would be preferred.
