What - the Role On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new VP Finance , reporting to Ownership. Leading a team of ~8 people (mix of direct and indirect reports). The primary focus is Accounting & Finance; they will also lead other corporate services (HR, IT), including overseeing outsourced consultants. The VP Finance will manage day-to-day output of the accounting team and contribute to the strategic direction of the company. Specific responsibilities include cashflow management, budgeting & forecasting, ad hoc and routine management reporting, process improvements, and ongoing system optimization. Who - the Candidate We are seeking a well-rounded business leader with excellent communication skills and relationship-building capabilities. The VP Finance will be personable, entrepreneurial, down-to-earth, confident, resilient, and adaptable. Strong leadership skills are key, with the ability to partner effectively across the organization in all departments and levels. We are looking for someone who started as a traditional Accountant but has progressed to general business leadership. The VP Finance should be able to be the sole accounting & finance person in the Boardroom and contribute strategically to business planning. Education & Qualifications CPA Designation is required. Foundational experience in a public practice accounting firm is required (mid-size CPA firm or large multinational). Experience Approximately 10 to 15 years of relevant and progressive work experience. This could be the first VP-level role for the successful candidate. Experience in a similar finance leadership capacity. Size Experience working for a mid-size and entrepreneurial business, with revenues of over $100M CAD. Sector Preference for experience in a company manufacturing and moving product and/or in an industrial business. How Much Base salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills. Anticipated base salary for this role is in the range of $155,000 to $185,000, plus a performance-based bonus, benefits, paid time off, etc. Please discuss total compensation expectations with SWIM. Where Based in Burnaby. The VP Finance will work from the office about 4 days per week, collaborating in-person with the team and with the Owners.
