Pasona Canada Inc. is recruiting on behalf of a Japanese‑affiliated global manufacturing company that is part of a publicly listed international group. The organization is experiencing continued growth and business integration in Canada, creating an exciting opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to join its executive team.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Vice President, Finance & Accounting serves as the senior finance leader for the Canadian operation. This position is responsible for the overall management of accounting, financial reporting, treasury, internal controls, compliance, and strategic financial planning while leading a team of approximately seven finance professionals.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, shareholders, lenders, auditors, and the global finance organization to support business growth, operational excellence, and long-term financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
Lead all accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
Present financial performance, forecasts, and key business metrics to senior leadership and shareholders.
Partner with operational leaders to drive profitability and business performance improvements.
Financial Reporting, Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Maintain compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and lender obligations.
Oversee external audits and strengthen internal control frameworks to support financial integrity and risk management.
Ensure adherence to group reporting requirements and accounting standards.
Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships.
Manage financing activities, capital expenditures, and debt compliance requirements.
Provide executive oversight of accounts receivable, credit management, collections, and accounts payable functions.
Business Integration & Process Improvement
Support ongoing business integration and transformation initiatives within Canada.
Lead finance‑related ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and process improvement projects.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to standardize processes, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational growth.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounting team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive organizational effectiveness through strong financial governance and leadership.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit management.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross‑functional initiatives.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
MBA or other advanced business qualification.
Experience in manufacturing or multinational organizations.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred), business integration projects, or multi‑entity environments.
Knowledge of IFRS and global reporting structures.
