Used Car Manager!
As a Used Car Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dealership's pre-owned vehicle operations. You will play a key role in sourcing, appraising, pricing, merchandising, and retailing used vehicle inventory while driving profitability and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working closely with the General manager, you will develop inventory strategies, maximize inventory turn, and lead initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the dealership.
Responsibilities:
• Support forecasting goals and objectives for used vehicle sales, gross profit, inventory turn, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
• Source and acquire quality pre-owned inventory through customer trade-ins, auctions, dealer trades, and private purchases.
• Accurately appraise vehicles and establish competitive market pricing to maximize profitability and inventory performance.
• Monitor inventory aging and implement strategies to improve inventory turn while maintaining an appropriate inventory mix.
• Ensure all used vehicles are properly reconditioned, merchandised, photographed, and marketed for sale in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Sales Team to provide support on vehicle selection, appraisals, pricing, and deal structure.
• Create a customer-focused environment and continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction throughout the vehicle purchasing process.
• Resolve customer concerns and work collaboratively with customers and dealership staff to ensure a positive ownership experience.
• Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and inventory levels to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Develop, implement, and monitor processes and standards for the Used Vehicle Department.
• Ensure proper follow-up of all used vehicle purchasing opportunities, trade appraisals, and inventory acquisition leads.
• Ensure staff understand and follow dealership policies, procedures, and manufacturer standards where applicable.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Used Car Manager, Sales Manager, or in a progressive automotive sales leadership role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of used vehicle appraisals, market trends, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Proven ability to drive profitability while effectively managing inventory levels and vehicle aging.
• Strong negotiation, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Excellent motivational and leadership abilities with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build relationships and provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence or equivalent
