Employment Term This is a permanent role. Job Type This is a full-time role, consisting of 40 52 hours per week, pending applicable rotation. Work Location and Arrangements This position is for employment within Greater Sudbury, ON Job Duties and Responsibilities As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on underground and surface mobile equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in accordance with OEM standards. Maintain accurate service records, parts lists, and maintenance documentation. Follow daily line-ups, safety procedures, and Ontario Regulation 854 Mines and Mining Plants. Support construction projects through reliable equipment maintenance. Qualifications Essential qualifications include: 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Journeyperson or equivalent (310T/310S considered) is preferred. Post-Secondary Education in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/Techniques is an asset. Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience. Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair skills. Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards. Preferred qualifications include: Underground Common Core modules (U0000, U0001, U0002, U0012). Experience with fixed-plant, shaft sinking, hoists, or welding/fabrication. Experience with electronic maintenance systems. Compensation The compensation range for the position is competitive and based on experience. Hourly base wages are to be between $20.00 to $30.00 CAD + hourly incentive bonus.
