Job Summary:
The Truck Driver (Shunt Driver), under the direction of the Supervisor, will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and materials within the yard and between designated locations. This role is critical in supporting plant operations by ensuring timely and safe transportation while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
We operate 24/7 with a variety of shifts. The current opportunity is for an afternoon/PM shift. Shift schedules may change with operational needs, and flexibility is required.
Afternoon shift incentive start time is between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. The premium is $0.50 per hour.
Evening/Night shift incentive start time is between 6:00PM 12:00AM/midnight. The premium is $1.50 per hour.
Compensation:
$34.50 per hour to start, $36.15 per hour after 3-months of employment
Duties & Responsibilities:
Safely operate company trucks and perform shunt driving duties within the yard
Move trailers and materials to support production and operational requirements
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicles are safe and compliant
Maintain accurate records, including logs and inspection reports
Communicate effectively with supervisors and plant personnel
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Assist with general yard organization and cleanliness
Perform other duties as required
Required Skills & Abilities:
Valid Class 1 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract
Minimum 2 years of driving experience preferred (all experience levels will be considered)
Strong understanding of safe driving practices and regulatory requirements
Ability to operate vehicles safely in a busy industrial environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
