The Treasury Analyst will support core treasury operations and work closely with Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Corporate Accounting, Payroll, and banking partners to ensure cash activity is accurate, timely, and well controlled.
This is a practical, hands-on treasury operations role focused on bank reconciliations, treasury accounting, cash forecasting, payment processing, corporate credit card administration, banking partner coordination, and operational issue resolution. It is well-suited to someone with a strong accounting foundation and treasury exposure, or a treasury-focused professional with banking, cash management, and reconciliation experience.
What- the Key Responsibilities:
Bank reconciliations and SAP clearing:
Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, clear bank G/L accounts, resolve unreconciled cash transactions, and support accurate cash reporting.
AR/AP clearing support:
Work with AR and AP teams to resolve customer receipt clearing, vendor payment clearing, lockbox exceptions, unposted deposits, returned items, autopay activity, ACH returns, cheque returns, and banking-related discrepancies.
Treasury accounting and month-end close:
Prepare and reconcile treasury-related journal entries, including bank fees, interest, FX activity, intercompany funding, zero-balance account activity, and bank transactions not automatically posted through SAP.
Payment setup and banking operations:
Prepare wires, bill payments, tax payments, intercompany transfers, stop payments, payment templates, cheque deposits/uploads, positive pay uploads, ACH exception handling, and similar banking transactions in accordance with approval controls and segregation of duties.
Cash forecasting and liquidity support:
Maintain rolling cash forecasts, incorporate actual banking activity, investigate forecast-to-actual variances, and work with AR, AP, Payroll, and business teams to improve forecast accuracy.
Corporate credit card administration:
Administer corporate credit card processes, including card setup and cancellation support, statement review, reconciliation of card activity in Concur, review of coding and supporting receipts, coordination of approvals, and timely and accurate posting to SAP.
Banking partner coordination:
Work directly with banking partners and treasury service providers to support day-to-day treasury operations, investigate banking issues, coordinate service requests, maintain treasury services, and facilitate operational changes affecting cash management activities.
Issue resolution and cross-functional support:
Independently identify and investigate issues, gather facts, and drive resolution with cross-functional teams, banking partners, and external service providers. Typical situations may include missing or misapplied payments, duplicate debits, banking errors, returned transactions, credit card issues, lockbox exceptions, and SAP posting or reconciliation issues.
Process discipline:
Identify practical opportunities to improve documentation, recurring processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency while maintaining clear support and evidence for key treasury activities.
Other treasury support:
Support treasury reporting, audit requests, banking administration, and other related duties as assigned.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive accounting & treasury professional with high attention to detail and great analytical skills who loves working at a fast pace in complex corporate environments. Strong MS Excel skills and hands-on experience using an ERP (ideally SAP!) is required.
Required Qualifications:
Experience performing bank reconciliations in SAP, including investigation of reconciling items, bank G/L account clearing, and treasury-related journal entries.
3–5 years of treasury, accounting, banking operations, cash management, or related finance experience, with flexibility for strong candidates with direct treasury, banking, or reconciliation experience.
Strong Excel skills and experience preparing detailed reconciliations, analyses, and recurring workpapers in a high-volume environment.
