Description:
Locals are not accepted for this position.
This is a mixed acuity unit that includes medical patients and some progressive care unit patients.
The unit specializes in oncology and stroke care.
Medical-surgical patients are assigned a ratio of 1:5-6.
Progressive care unit patients are assigned a ratio of 1:3-4.
Nurses will manage drips for cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin.
Unstable strokes and BiPap patients will be cared for in this unit.
The unit is dynamic, comprising both medical-surgical and progressive levels of care.
Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary.
Candidates must have experience with managing cardiac drips and other protocols.
The nursing team will include interdisciplinary support from various services.
Floating among units may be required as needed.
Candidates should be prepared to work with adult and geriatric populations.
The nurse will be responsible for various patient care tasks, including blood product administration and IV management.
The daily census in the unit averages between 29-31 patients.
Candidates must successfully provide supportive care across a range of patient diagnoses.
The work environment requires effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
