Location / Travel: West Coast field assignments (California & New Mexico) - Approximately 90% travel by air Compensation: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour, DOE and licensure - Full-Time License: State-specific fire alarm/suppression licensure required (see Minimum Qualifications) ABOUT THE ROLE Fuze HR Solutions Inc. is recruiting on behalf of a nationwide fire and life safety systems contractor seeking a skilled and dependable Travel Fire Alarm & Suppression Technician to support West Coast field operations across California and New Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of both fire alarm and fire suppression systems across a diverse range of industrial and commercial facilities. This position requires approximately 90% travel by air, with the flexibility, professionalism, and readiness to mobilize quickly to project sites throughout California and New Mexico. The ideal candidate holds current, state-specific fire alarm and/or suppression licensure and brings hands-on field experience across a range of panel and suppression platforms. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Install, program, test, inspect, and service fire alarm systems including conventional, addressable, and analog/addressable panels (Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, Hochiki, Gamewell-FCI, and others) - Perform periodic inspection and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable state and local codes - Conduct system commissioning, point-to-point testing, and end-to-end verification on new and existing installations - Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm panel faults, initiating device failures, notification appliance circuit issues, and communication/monitoring problems - Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge, and clean agent systems - Service and certify suppression equipment in compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and all applicable state and local codes - Perform commissioning, startup, hydrostatic testing, flow tests, and ITM (inspection, testing & maintenance) activities as required - Travel by air (approximately 90% of travel) to client sites across California and New Mexico, often on short notice; independently manage travel logistics - Coordinate with general contractors, facility managers, AHJs, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution - Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, work orders, and time sheets - Adhere to all company, client site, and OSHA safety protocols; wear required PPE at all times MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - For California assignments: Active California Fire Life Safety (Blue Card) certification or NICET Level II - For New Mexico assignments: ES-3, ES-J3, or MS-12 licensure, as well as NICET Level II - Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm and/or fire suppression system installation, inspection, or service - Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and other relevant fire protection standards - Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and system specifications - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen - Comfortable with extensive air travel and multi-week stays away from home - Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Industrial experience - manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, data centers, warehousing, or heavy industry - strongly desired - Additional NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Water-Based Systems Layout, or Inspection & Testing (Level II or higher preferred) - Experience with clean agent, foam, CO2, or dry chemical suppression systems - Familiarity with multiple fire alarm panel manufacturers (Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, Hochiki, Gamewell-FCI, etc.) - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification - Low voltage or electrical license where applicable - Experience in both union and non-union work environments COMPENSATION & BENEFITS - Hourly pay: $25.00 - $60.00, depending on experience, certifications, and licensure - Per diem and all travel expenses fully covered (flights, hotel, ground transportation, meals) - Overtime opportunities based on project demand - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company match - Paid time off and company holidays - Company-provided tools, test equipment, and uniforms - Pay advancement for NICET certification and industry credentials - Ongoing training and professional development support HOW TO APPLY If you're a licensed fire alarm and suppression technician ready to take your career on the road across California and New Mexico, we want to hear from you.
