Join the Transplant Guardian Angel Program at UPMC Presbyterian and play a vital role in supporting transplant patients throughout their journey. About the Position: The Transplant Guardian Angel Program was developed to enhance the patient experience for individuals undergoing transplant care at UPMC Presbyterian. In this role, the Transplant Guardian Angel serves as a trusted guide and advocate, supporting patients by assisting with navigation and transportation between multiple campus buildings and escorting them to appointments and procedures. This individual will connect with patients prior to their transplant, build meaningful relationships, and serve as a consistent, reassuring presence throughout their care. As an integral member of the transplant team, the Transplant Guardian Angel provides personalized guidance and support, helping ensure a seamless, coordinated, and compassionate experience at every step of the transplant journey. Schedule: + Ideal for students pursuing a career in the healthcare field (e.g., nursing, pre-med, social work, or related studies) + a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Maintain on-call availability of at least 10 hours biweekly (no maximum), with the ability to report to the hospital within one hour if called. Responsibilities: + Assist patient and their family members with identification and facilitation of available lodging. + Reinforce information provided by the transplant team to the patient and their family members. + Obtain clinical data and enter the information into a clinical database under supervision of the Transplant Operational Staff. + Assist with greeting patients and their families upon arrival to the hospital and with navigation to the facility. + Serve as a communication link between the patient, family members and transplant team regarding updates, actively listening to the family members and conveying questions/concerns to the transplant clinical team. + Assist the transplant team in the preparation of educational packets. + High School graduate or equivalent is required. + 1-2 years of post-secondary education required. + Ability to work full-time hours highly preferred. + Computer skills to support data entry.UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
