Responsibilities Business Development Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan to exceed sales and profitability objectives. Grow market share by identifying new opportunities across residential and commercial construction. Build long-term relationships with mechanical contractors, plumbing contractors, builders, engineers, architects, developers, wholesalers, and distribution partners. Develop executive-level relationships within key target accounts and create strategic account growth plans. Influence Projects Early Position engineered piping and mechanical solutions during the specification and design stages. Generate future demand by identifying upcoming construction projects before tender. Monitor construction activity, housing trends, infrastructure development, and market conditions to identify new opportunities. Manage Your Sales Pipeline Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and opportunity forecasts using CRM. Track project progress from specification through completion. Provide regular account updates, market intelligence, competitive activity, and territory reporting. Become the Technical Resource Deliver product demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and technical presentations. Educate contractors, distributors, builders, engineers, and consultants on system applications and installation best practices. Support customers with technical recommendations while collaborating with engineering, marketing, and technical support teams. Represent the Brand Participate in industry events, trade shows, association meetings, and customer appreciation events. Strengthen market awareness by developing a visible presence throughout the territory. Manage travel, promotional initiatives, and customer development activities within budget. Qualifications 5+ years of successful outside sales experience within construction, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, hydronics, engineered building products, or industrial distribution. Experience selling through contractors, wholesalers, distributors, builders, consulting engineers, or project stakeholders. Strong business development, account management, and relationship-building skills. Experience managing project opportunities using a CRM platform. Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation abilities. Highly organized with strong planning and territory management skills. Technical aptitude with the ability to learn engineered mechanical systems quickly. Installation or field experience within plumbing or mechanical systems is considered an asset. Post-secondary education in business, engineering, construction, or a related discipline is preferred.
