Jean Tweed is a leading, community-based organization that provides a supportive environment for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. Recognizing the diversity of women’s experience in today’s society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman’s life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns.
The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.
Position Purpose
As a Team Lead, Mental Health & Substance Use (Cumberland House) you will provide on-site support with a team based approach to case planning, consistent with evidence-based practices in the fields of mental health and substance use; support your team to manage crisis situations, conflict resolution, and risk assessments.

How will you help to get us there?
As the Team Lead, you will:
Assist the Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Residential Housing Program.
Oversee the maintenance of documentation, including discharge summaries and clinical notes.
Develop and implement programming in collaboration with the Supervisor and in line with the Agency strategic objectives.
Collaborate to develop programming in line with evidence-informed and best practices.
Represent the Jean Tweed Centre in the community.
Provide after-hours emergency coverage on a rotational basis.
Monitor the safety, health and well-being of the clients under the program care
Other duties as assigned
Staff Supervision
Train and supervise staff while on shift in the capacity of a Residential Counsellor
Supervise, or support employees to supervise student placements and volunteers.
Work along side Residential Counsellors while on shift to provide guidance and leadership.
Organizational
Conduct job responsibilities with a commitment to harm reduction, trauma- informed, women-centered and anti-oppressive practices.
Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
Adhere to the policies and procedures of The Jean Tweed Centre.
Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of The Jean Tweed Centre.
Maintain a client service orientation including learning about/addressing client needs and concerns.

Requirements
Diploma in Social Work or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in related field.
Previous experience working in a live-in treatment program
Approach to leadership consistent with organizational values.
Knowledge and understanding of women’s issues, particularly as they relate to women with substance use, mental health and/or gambling concerns.
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and conflict/crisis management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships with individuals and teams.
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent individual and group supervisory skills.
Administrative, project management and program development skills.
