Team Lead – Melody Smoke & Vape Location: CARMEL, IN Position Type: Full-Time Pay: $13–$16/hour + Performance Bonuses About the Role Melody Smoke & Vape is looking for a dependable and motivated Team Lead to help oversee daily store operations, support staff, and maintain high operational standards. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, retail experience, and the ability to handle responsibility in a fast-paced smoke shop environment. The Team Lead works directly with management and helps ensure employees stay productive, customers receive excellent service, and store operations run smoothly. Responsibilities Supervise employees during shifts and ensure tasks are completed properly Assist with opening and closing procedures Operate POS system and handle cash transactions accurately Verify customer IDs and ensure compliance with all vape/tobacco laws Help train and guide new employees Monitor store cleanliness, organization, and stocking Assist with inventory counts and delivery check-ins Handle customer concerns professionally Help reduce theft, inventory loss, and operational issues Ensure employees follow company policies and attendance standards Communicate operational issues directly to management Requirements Must be at least 21 years old Open availability Previous retail, smoke shop, vape shop, or leadership experience preferred Reliable transportation and strong punctuality required Ability to multitask and lead by example Strong communication and problem-solving skills Professional appearance and hygiene required Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Basic computer and POS knowledge preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising employees or shift operations Knowledge of Smoke Shop Products Experience handling inventory and retail operations Experience with cash management and customer service Performance Expectations Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment Ensure all assigned shift responsibilities are completed Help improve sales and customer experience Maintain strong attendance and reliability Assist management in maintaining operational efficiency Security cameras and transaction monitoring systems are actively used Bonus Opportunities Additional bonuses may be available based on: Store sales performance Reliability & punctuality Team leadership & operational performance Customer reviews Inventory accuracy & cleanliness standards By applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
