Position Summary
The Team Lead is responsible for the supervision and operational effectiveness of the entire on duty security shift. This position is also responsible for coordinating the security response to incidents. The position has a high degree of responsibility as they act as a liaison between HIAA's duty security and other airport stakeholders.
Compensation:$26.75 per hour
Major Responsibilities
Operational Supervision: Leading the entire on duty security team, ensuring they follow Site Work
Instructions and HIAA Post Orders.
Incident Coordination: Serve as the primary coordinator for security responses to incidents and
emergencies. Takes command of situation until relieved by first responders.
Training and Development: Oversee the ongoing training, direction and mentorship of team members. The Team Lead is accountable for the team's retention of site-specific operational knowledge.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring all staff read and understand Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) policies and their responsibility to report any incidents or accidents that occur during their shift.
Disciplinary Oversight: Identifying and reporting all disciplinary issues to the CNS HIAA AC Contract Manager such as Late Arrivals, improper dress, early departures, improper conduct etc.
Administrative Tasks: Responding to emails, completing daily paperwork, preparing for and giving shift briefings, and providing the on-shift rotation to the ACOs.
Security Incidents: documenting and providing details of any security infractions that occur during their shift and providing to the investigation.
Training for these posts will be provided during on-the-job training, if a candidate is successful.

Professional/Technical Knowledge:
Be knowledgeable of, or be willing to learn, Canadian Air Transportation Regulations (SOR/2011-316), the Halifax Airport Security Program, and all other pertinent Halifax Airport orders and directives.
