Are you a hands-on leader with experience in feed production and a passion for team development? As a
Team Lead, Feed Mill
at Canada Packers, you’ll play a key role in overseeing daily operations while supporting a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Manager, Feed Mill, to support production goals, ensure safety and quality standards, and lead a team of employees through coaching, training, and day-to-day supervision. Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating daily operations and supporting team performance. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing Occupational Health and Safety & site Feed Safety program
Supervising, coaching, training, and evaluating staff
Planning, implementing, and monitoring staff work schedules with the Manager, and accurately recording and analyzing data for weekly reporting
Implementing, with the Manager, programs, initiatives, and projects to achieve production goals and financial targets
Ensuring the site is clean and in good repair by following cleaning and routine maintenance schedules
Handling, in the Manager’s absence, site production administrative activities, including PO requests
Demonstrating willingness to learn the feed batching system and assisting with cleaning when needed
Monitoring materials inventory levels and participating in monthly inventory cycle counts
Reporting any unusual production, maintenance, or staffing problem areas to the Manager
Acting as delegate in the Manager’s absence
Performing other related duties as assigned, including technical, production-related, and general maintenance tasks as circumstances require
Skills & Experience:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application. Proof of eligibility may be requested during the recruitment process.
A minimum of five years of experience in feed production and/or delivery is required
Experience in a supervisory/management role with the ability to lead a team is preferred
Grade 12 diploma is preferred
Experience/ability to lead a team
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously
Ability to work on weekends, or off shift or holiday hours as required on exception basis
A valid driver’s license is required
