ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
Uplands Elementary School is a Pre-Kindergarten, Early
English Language Learner and Grades 1 - 6 school in Brooks, Alberta to
approximately 400 students. We offer many learning and extra curricular
programs to our students including: sports, arts and citizenship clubs. Refer

Moving Expense Reimbursement
New teachers who have accepted employment with the Division and must relocate from another town, city, or province, may be reimbursed for moving expenses, up to the limits noted below. This applies to teachers on probationary contracts, and Interim and Temporary teaching contracts for five (5) or more consecutive months. Employees relocating from:
Red Deer and north of Red Deer
- actual cost up to one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
South of Red Deer
, excluding a 110 km radius around the city of Brooks [Alberta] - actual cost up to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
Other provinces/countries
- actual cost up to two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a stimulating learning environment and deliver course material that enables each student to experience growth and develop to their full potential.
Foster an educational environment grounded in the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Identify individual and collective student learning needs appropriate to their age and grade level.
Plan and deliver approved curriculum in accordance with student learning needs, including those with special needs.
Provide direct support and/or intervention as required to maximize student achievement and well-being.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary student services team to discuss individual student needs and progress.
Ensure recommended personalized student resources and supports are implemented effectively to maximize student achievement and well-being.
Provide guidance to student support staff to help them understand and respond to individual student strengths and needs.
Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate and communicate student progress.
Meet with parents or guardians to discuss students’ learning progress.
Supervise extracurricular and after-school activities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Education
Pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution
Valid Alberta Teaching Certification
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and lesson design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of student learning
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Bachelor of Science Degree or related degree is preferred
