Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for an Occupational Therapist position.
The primary location for this position is:
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment, treatment, education and management of clients requiring occupational therapy as a result of an injury and/or a disease process which has affected the functional abilities of the clients.
Key Responsibilities
Identify scope of practice and communicate that scope
Identify possible limitations of practice and attempt to seek out alternative sources of service
Manage and organize clinical practice
Identify potential risks and minimize risk factors in practice setting
Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to position
Gather and analyze pertinent information to aid in the decision making process
Determine and/or modify approach to service for each client
Reassess and modify the service as required
Determine when the task or process is complete, review the need for continuing and/or additional services and make recommendations
Verify each participant's understanding of communication
Clarify and attempt to resolve discrepancies in communication
Evaluate the quality of service provided and apply findings to service provided to the client
Evaluate the quality of clinical practice and apply findings to clinical practice
Maintain knowledge of federal and provincial legislation and agency policies relevant to practice
Develop a continuing education plan and implement based on professional needs
Coordinating the delivery of occupational therapy with services provided by other team members
Keeps informed of current trends in occupational therapy and health care
Demonstrates knowledge of legal parameters for occupational therapy practice
Qualifications Required
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
Possess a Practicing Certificate of Registration from the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Possess a current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (B.C.L.S.)
Other pertinent conditions
:
Must be available to work all shifts
as required including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays. Hours of work are subject to change.
Salary per the OPSEU Salary Schedule ($40.36 per hour to $57.99 per hour)
