Permanent | Full‑Time | On site Starting at $46.96 per hour Bring your technical expertise to a role where your work directly supports the administration, maintenance and implementation of numerous computerized systems for utilities, taxation and general accounts receivable. As a Systems Support Technician, you'll help keep critical business systems running smoothly while improving processes, strengthening data integrity, and developing and implementing enhancements to meet business needs. What you'll do Help ensure critical billing systems for utilities, taxation, general accounts receivables, and revenue collections operate reliably and effectively. Improve the way data and information move across departmental systems, reducing inefficiencies and supporting better decision-making. Strengthen system performance and user confidence by identifying issues, leading corrective actions, and supporting practical solutions. Support secure and appropriate system access by designing, applying, and maintaining effective security rules. Contribute to successful technology projects, system upgrades, and process improvements that enhance organizational effectiveness. Improve reporting, analysis, and data tools through the development and maintenance of SQL scripts, reports, and system resources. Support users through clear technical guidance, troubleshooting, and training that helps teams work more effectively. Maintain strong system documentation, standards, transaction controls, and interfaces to support consistency and data integrity. Provide insight into system capabilities, limitations, and future needs to support strategic planning and continuous improvement. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and deliver effective system enhancements. A closer look at the role In this role, you'll be a key technical resource for the systems and processes that support customer care, billing, cashiers, collections, meter data collection, utility and taxation operations. Your day may involve troubleshooting a data and system issue, developing SQL scripts, working with users to understand a process challenge, coordinating with a vendor on a system enhancement, or developing reports and tools that help departments access the information they need. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and support system changes from design and testing through to implementation. You'll also help maintain documentation, transaction controls, interfaces, and standards that keep systems accurate, secure, and dependable. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys a fast paced, changing and dynamic environment. You'll be trusted to work independently, apply sound judgment, and contribute to cross-departmental initiatives that improve service delivery and operational effectiveness. What you bring A solutions-focused mindset with the curiosity to understand complex systems and improve how they work. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with confidence resolving complex data and system issues. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Access and Power BI, including complex spreadsheets and databases. Ideally experienced with Tempest, CSM, Customer Connect & Unit 4 as well as experience in Database and Customer Reporting applications including Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Query Writing, Stored Procedures, SSRS Reporting, Database Administration, Power BI, Crystal Reports, HTML and C#, as well as general experience with Systems Integration and Technical Support. Qualifications Completion of a two (2) year Information Technology diploma or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution. Five (5) years of experience in a computerized billing or accounting environment, with demonstrated progression into increasingly complex technical work. Experience and training in the operation and maintenance of complex software systems. A management-approved equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
