Why this role is significant As a Sushi Cook at Brentwood Bay Resort, you are trusted with crafting dishes that demand precision, skill, and artistry. You take ownership of your station, ingredients, and execution—ensuring every plate reflects the quality and care we’re known for. While this is an independent role, you are part of a collaborative kitchen team working toward one goal: delivering an exceptional guest experience. A day in the life Prepare high-quality sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and consistency Manage your mise en place, including rice preparation, knife work, fish preparation, and garnishes Follow recipes and plating standards to ensure visually consistent, high-quality presentation Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation at all times Monitor product freshness, manage inventory, and minimize waste Collaborate with the kitchen team to support smooth and efficient service Complete opening, closing, and shift duties with attention to detail What we hope you'll bring to the team Minimum 2 years of experience in a sushi kitchen or fast-paced culinary environment Strong knife skills and a solid foundation in sushi preparation techniques Confidence working independently with a high standard for quality and consistency Strong time management and ability to stay calm under pressure Attention to detail and pride in your craft A team-first mindset with a willingness to support others What's in it for you $21–$25 per hour + gratuities , based on experience and skill level Join our team and receive a $ 300 signing bonus after successfully completing your probationary period.
