Job DescriptionJob Description The Opportunity We are seeking dedicated, motivated and organized Level II Certified Dental Assistant to join our well established, modern Dental Office located in the heart of Forest Hill. Our office has a welcoming feel with a large patient area and modern aesthetic, with state of the art technology. As part of the Clinical team, you will be responsible for assisting our Dentist, with experience in both surgical Periodontic and restorative Periodontic procedures. We are seeking someone who will lead the clinical team with dedication & motivation. Responsibilities Surgical Chairside Assistance Assist the Specialist during all procedures, including but not limited to; Gum grafting, Periodontal Surgery, Gum Surgery. Prepare all treatment rooms for patient consultations and procedures, ensuring all required instruments and materials are ready. Pass instruments to the Dentist accurately and efficiently. Operate and maintain dental equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment including the treatment rooms & sterilization area. Responsible for all radiographs and photos. Provide Pre & Post Operative instructions to patients in clear manner. Communication and Patient Care Greet & welcome patients with a warm attitude, making them feel comfortable in the treatment room. Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, addressing their concerns with empathy and answer any questions they have about their treatment. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and dental care. Sterilization and Infection Control Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment, following infection prevention and control protocols. Maintain a sterile environment in all treatment rooms, sterilization area, and all other clinical areas. Conduct weekly sterilization log reviews to ensure all information recorded is correct. Conduct IPAC Audits on a regular basis to ensure all IPAC protocols are implemented and followed. Other Duties Order Dental Supplies as needed & to keep costs in line with clinic budgets. Daily chart audits to ensure next day patient charts are up to date: Personal information, Radiographs, other notes needed for the appointment, etc. Perform other duties assigned by the Dentist or Office Manager. Qualifications Required Certificate of Dental Assistant Level II. HARP Certification. Valid CPR certification. Minimum of 3 years of Surgical Dental Assisting Chairside. Experience with a Specialist is a bonus. Proficiency in taking radiographs. Knowledge of Dental terminology, procedures and instruments. Dental Software: Tracker. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor and appearance. License/Certification: Certified Dental Assistant (required) HARP (required)
