Do you want to join a dynamic team? We are looking for an individual to join our Niigaaniin team as a casual relief receptionist on a prescheduled and on call in basis.
PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Enji-Maawinjidiyaang Manager, the Student Receptionist performs a wide variety of administrative supports for the Enji-Maawinjidiyaang (Elliot Lake Indigenous Friendship Center).
The Enji-Maawinjidiyaang Student Receptionist provides direct support to the staff at Enji-Maawinjidiyaang and provides support as the receptionist to visitors and community members accessing Enji-Maawinjidiyaang.
The Enji-Maawinjidiyaang Student Receptionist is responsible for documenting the flow through Enji-Maawinjidiyaang.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
It is preferred for the applicant to be a registered band member of the First Nations serviced by Niigaaniin Services, including Batchewana First Nation, Garden River First Nation, Thessalon First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, Serpent River First Nation, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, and Wahnapitae First
High school/College/University Student.
Superior oral and written communication skills, excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and
Must be Proficient in MS Office Applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and internet.
Must have a clear Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Peoples Sector Check applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
Drivers license and access to a vehicle would be considered and asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of Anishnaabemowin, culture and traditions of Indigenous people of the Robinson Huron Treaty,
Familiar with community services networks and knowledge the Niigaaniin Services would be an asset,
Working knowledge of computers and computer software,
Knowledge of office procedures and equipment,
Requires minimum supervision, able to work independently and maintains a supportive and cooperative environment with colleagues and the communities, and
All candidates must be able to work with a diverse population.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reception
Greet visitors as they arrive at the office,
Direct visitors to the appropriate team members and programming
Answer, and direct all incoming calls,
Collect paperwork from visitors and community members as required,
Date stamp and time paperwork that is being handed in from visitors and community members,
Input paperwork received into the tracking tool,
Ensure all registration, sign in/out sheets, and membership applications are uploaded to centralized data applications,
Manage and reconcile petty cash, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions,
Monitor and maintain inventory of all building materials and supplies,
Book facility rentals are required,
Maintain the coffee, snack ect. Supplies in the lobby area,
Ensure lobby is uncluttered and debris free, and
Monitor the lobby area.
