Job DescriptionJob Description Location: Windsor, ON (Hybrid) Position: Long Term Contract (Possible Extension) Title: 671-1 - Studio Engineer – Exterior Design & Vehicle Integration Job Description: We are seeking a Studio Engineer to support the development of vehicle exterior designs from concept through production. This role serves as the bridge between design and engineering teams, ensuring that styling concepts are translated into feasible, manufacturable, and production-ready solutions while maintaining the intended design vision. The ideal candidate will have strong NX and Teamcenter experience, a solid understanding of automotive exterior systems, and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities: Support vehicle exterior design development, including front fascias, grilles, exterior trim components, wheel flares, light bars, and related systems. Utilize NX and Teamcenter to create, review, and manage digital product data throughout the development process. Evaluate and improve design feasibility while preserving Class A surface quality and styling intent. Support clay model development, mock-ups, and prototype activities by ensuring proper clearance between styling surfaces and underlying vehicle structures. Manage packaging criteria and digital vehicle studies to support concept and production surface development. Coordinate with design, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to resolve design and packaging issues. Verify that vehicle designs meet packaging, tooling, safety, manufacturing, and integration requirements. Support gap and flush development activities and design release milestones. Participate in design reviews, feasibility assessments, and engineering approval processes. Provide CAD data for prototype, milling, and rapid prototyping activities. Track design changes and support release management activities within Teamcenter. Present technical updates and support coordination meetings with design and engineering stakeholders. Analyze competitive vehicle designs and industry trends to support future product development initiatives. Escalate issues and drive resolution when design objectives and engineering requirements are misaligned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Proficiency with NX (Siemens NX) CAD software. Experience using Teamcenter or a similar PLM system. Understanding of automotive vehicle design, packaging, and product development processes. Experience working with exterior trim, molded plastic components, or vehicle exterior systems. Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate design concepts into feasible engineering solutions. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting Class A surface development and design feasibility reviews. Knowledge of vehicle integration, gap and flush development, and manufacturing processes. Experience with prototype builds, clay models, digital mock-ups, or studio engineering activities. Familiarity with sheet metal structures and vehicle body systems.
