Job Purpose: Student councelor at Coventry University Kazakhstan is responsible for providing comprehensive well-being and mental health services to students and the university community, including individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, psychological assessments, and mental health workshops. Student councelor plays a critical role in promoting well-being and mental health awareness through outreach and educational programs, ensuring that services are delivered ethically and in compliance with legal standards, while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity in all interactions. Student councelor works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to address students' social, emotional and psychological needs, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment conducive to learning and growth aligned with the institution’s mission, values, and strategic goals. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver individual and group counseling to students, faculty, and staff addressing mental health and emotional well-being Formulate personalized treatment plans and conduct psychological assessments for diagnosis and intervention Provide immediate crisis intervention support during emergencies and traumatic events Design and facilitate educational workshops on stress management, coping strategies, and mental health awareness Consult with administrators, faculty, and staff to support individuals facing mental health or learning challenges Partner with university departments to promote campus-wide wellness initiatives and policy support Refer clients to external specialized healthcare providers when higher-level clinical care is required Maintain secure, confidential client records and ensure strict adherence to professional ethical and legal standards Collect and analyze counseling data to measure program effectiveness, generate reports, and improve service delivery Conduct mental health training and professional development sessions for university staff
