Job DescriptionJob Description Falco Steel Fabricators is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator / Detailer with strong knowledge of structural steel in Ontario. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Tekla Structures and Bluebeam, and a solid understanding of structural steel fabrication and steel connections. Job Details Start Date: Immediate Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary and Incentives: Starting from $75,000 (based on experience) Education: B.Eng. or Technical College. Experience: Minimum 5 years in the structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication sector Required Software Knowledge: Tekla Structures, Bluebeam Revu and MS Office. Work Location: 323 Deerhurst Drive, Brampton, ON L6T K3. Key Responsibilities · Prepare accurate material take-offs, cost estimates, and competitive quotations for structural steel fabrication and erection projects · Review contract drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project scope and requirements. · Assist with preliminary connection concepts and understand common structural steel connection practices. · Ensure all estimates and detailing work comply with Ontario building practices, applicable codes, and industry standards. · Strong working knowledge of Ontario structural steel construction practices and terminology. · Experience preparing material take-offs directly from Tekla models. · Excellent communication and organizational skills. · Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications · Experience working with local fabricators, general contractors, or consultants in Ontario. · Familiarity with “CISC Handbook of steel construction and CSA S16 standards”. · Knowledge of miscellaneous metals and custom steel fabrication is considered an asset.
