This role is eligible for a wage progression:Starting rate is $21/hour, $22 at 6 months, $23 at 12 months and annual reviews thereafter. This role is also eligible for Group Insurance Benefits, a Company Performance Bonus, Discounted Pet Food, Employee Events, and more.
Overall Accountability
Contribute to the production team by working on a production line to process raw pet food in an efficient, safety-minded manner. Follow directions closely to complete the required tasks with minimal supervision. This job requires reliable transportation and flexibility as we often require early start times, and it is not located near public transit.
The ideal candidate will be mature and reliable, and have the capacity for heavy lifting and repetitive motion. This work environment is fast-paced and sometimes includes wet/cold conditions, slippery surfaces, and moving mechanical parts.
Key Responsibilities
Work at various stations on the line in the grinding stage of production
Transfer meat to the line and load into grinder
Operate and maintain machinery to grind meat according to precise recipes and directions
Check products to ensure they meet quality specifications
Check information on product for completeness and accuracy
Keep equipment and work area clean by following cleaning processes and procedures
Follow all Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
Must be comfortable working with a variety of raw meat products
Physically fit and able to stand for 8+ hours and lift between 35 to 50 lbs.
Able to work in a cool/cold work environment
Lab coats and Personal Protective Equipment is provided
Experience in the food manufacturing industry is an asset
