The Senior Data Scientist role is within Workday’s Product & Technology (P&T) Operations Analytics & Tools Team. The primary focus is on product adoption analytics that drive strategic execution across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Serve as the P&T domain expert in product adoption analytics, providing technical and strategic thought leadership. Partner with technical leaders and domain experts across Workday to map the data landscape and ensure transparency for decision‑makers. Design and influence enterprise‑wide adoption analytics data connections, collaborating with data engineering on pipeline design, scalability, and sustainability. Translate complex data models into compelling narratives and visualizations, including interactive dashboards and executive presentations that drive organizational clarity. Provide guidance on data trends, governance, and use cases to stakeholders at all levels. Advocate a customer‑value‑first approach to evaluating product health and adoption metrics. Conduct forensic data investigations to identify root causes and translate technical findings into focused conclusions. Leverage data ETL expertise to manage multi‑step product telemetry and observability systems, ensuring data integrity. Demonstrate urgency and autonomy in problem solving, proactively navigating cross‑functional teams to implement solutions for emerging business challenges. Basic Qualifications 8+ years of experience with advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and/or data science. 8+ years of experience simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders. 6‑8 years of experience working autonomously in a highly matrixed, collaborative corporate environment. 5+ years of experience with enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Sigma). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong communication and data storytelling skills. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise production‑level data science‑based products for business decision‑making. Experience on the AWS stack (Redshift, Sagemaker) and scripting languages (Python, R). Other Qualifications Familiarity with front‑end components or frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, JavaScript). Strong project management skills. Experience applying organizational change management principles. Experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework. Experience within the SaaS, cloud, or enterprise technology industries. Proven track record of moving seamlessly between high‑level strategy and technical execution. Understanding of product management fundamentals. Compensation Base salary ranges: Vancouver, BC – $124,400 – $186,600CAD per year. Additional U.S. locations range from $148,200USD to $263,300USD per year. Role may be eligible for bonus and equity components. Flexibility & Work Location Workday offers a flexible work model that requires at least 50% of time in the office or field each quarter. Remote work options are available for qualifying roles.
