Job DescriptionJob Description
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to join a fast-paced, acquisition-focused environment supporting private equity-backed portfolio companies and public company compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone coming out of Big 4 audit (or strong mid-tier public accounting) who wants to move beyond traditional audit into corporate finance, financial due diligence, operational accounting, and M&A exposure.
This role offers direct visibility into acquisition activity, private equity diligence, financial reporting, and portfolio company operations—ideal for someone looking to grow into a broader finance leadership path.
What You’ll Do
Financial Analysis & Due Diligence
Review historical and projected financial statements for acquisition targets
Perform trend and variance analysis across income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
Analyze revenue drivers, EBITDA trends, working capital requirements, and capital expenditures
Assess accounting policies, quality of earnings, and identify non-recurring adjustments
Support EBITDA normalization, synergy validation, and valuation assumptions
Participate in management meetings and summarize findings for senior leadership
Transaction Support
Assist in preparing financial due diligence reports and investment committee materials
Coordinate data room requests and work closely with legal, tax, and accounting advisors
Identify financial, operational, and accounting risks impacting valuation or deal structure
Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario testing for downside exposure
Financial Reporting & Operational Accounting
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close adjustments
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including cash, AR, AP, and intercompany balances
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
Prepare internal management reporting and variance analysis
Assist with cash flow tracking and short-term forecasting
Audit, Compliance & Systems
Maintain general ledger integrity and supporting documentation
Support audit readiness and respond to external auditor requests
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls
Assist with ERP/accounting system improvements and process optimization
What We’re Looking For
3–4+ years of experience in Big 4 audit strongly preferred
Strong mid-tier public accounting candidates also considered (Grant Thornton, BDO, MNP, etc.)
CPA completed or actively pursuing completion strongly preferred
Strong financial statement analysis and accounting foundation
Exposure to corporate finance, diligence, or transaction advisory is highly attractive
Professional communication style and strong executive presence
Self-starter with strong accountability, ownership, and drive
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Why This Role
This is not a standard Senior Accountant role.
It is designed for someone who wants to move from pure audit into private equity exposure, acquisition diligence, portfolio finance, and strategic financial operations.
You’ll gain visibility into how deals get done—and how businesses scale after acquisition
