JOB SUMMARY: Spiritual Care Provider - Hospice 10 hrs. a week / 20 hrs. Bi-weekly Tuesday 4hrs / Wednesday 3hrs / Thursday 3hrs - this is flexible Wage: $22.00 hr. - depending on experience level As a compassionate and integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the Spiritual Care Provider supports the spiritual and emotional well-being of residents in continuing care. This role ensures that residents have access to meaningful spiritual services that reflect their individual beliefs, traditions, and cultural backgrounds. The provider facilitates spiritual programming, offers one-on-one support, and collaborates with families, volunteers, and community faith leaders. The position aligns with Park Place Seniors Living’s commitment to resident-centered care and its “culture of safety” as outlined in the Strategic Directions Develops and facilitates group and individual spiritual care programs, including worship services, sacred text studies, hymn sings, meditation, and life review therapy Provides spiritual support during palliative and end-of-life care, including memorial services and celebration of life ceremonies Coordinates visits from spiritual leaders and volunteers, ensuring respectful and inclusive access to spiritual care Resident-Centered Care Assesses and responds to the spiritual needs of residents, families, and staff, respecting diverse religious and cultural affiliations Maintains a current listing of residents’ spiritual/cultural affiliations and ensures it is accessible to spiritual care visitors Collaboration & Communication Works closely with the Recreation Therapist, Site Leader, and Pastoral Care Committee to plan and evaluate spiritual care services Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and liaises with community places of worship to support resident affiliations Education & Quality Assurance Provides in-service education for staff on residents’ spiritual needs and cultural sensitivity Supports quality improvement initiatives, including resident spiritual care surveys and program audits Safety & Risk Management Take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Reports unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents promptly and participates in safety audits and evaluations.
