Located in Jordan, Ontario, The Shore offers stunning views and fabulous food. We offer a contemporary casual concept, featuring exceptional seafood, artisanal pizza, signature prime rib and local wines from the Niagara region. Position Function:
The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations and management, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining kitchen sanitation standards.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing the daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's standards.
Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to improve performance and maintain high culinary standards.
Assist in menu development, costing, and inventory management.
Oversee the implementation of health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
The Sous Chef assists in creating the kitchen staff schedule each week by using historical data and considering business needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Minimum 4 years of experience in fast-paced kitchens.
1 year of experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie or equivalent position.
A degree or diploma in culinary arts, skills or management.
Chefs certificate-apprenticeship program-culinary training.
Food Handling Certificate.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
Ability to train and develop staff and maintain high culinary standards.
Ability to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs.
