Permanent Full Time What You Will Do Architect & Deliver Meaningful Solutions Design end-to-end solution architectures that align business goals, customer needs, and enterprise strategy Develop architecture artifacts (diagrams, decision records, models) that clearly define both functional and non-functional requirements Translate complex challenges into simple, scalable, and sustainable designs Lead Technical Direction Own the technical vision and solution roadmap in collaboration with Enterprise and Portfolio Architecture Guide teams through architecturally significant decisions, balancing innovation with practicality Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, and performance standards Drive Modernization & Innovation Champion modern architecture patterns (cloud-native, microservices, APIs) Identify and introduce emerging technologies and best practices that deliver measurable business value Continuously improve delivery through automation, reusable components, and platform capabilities Collaborate & Influence Partner with business leaders, product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver aligned outcomes Act as a trusted advisor, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences Build strong relationships across teams, vendors, and partners Elevate Teams & Culture Foster a high-performing, agile engineering culture Mentor developers and engineers on architecture, design patterns, and best practices Promote a mindset of continuous learning, improvement, and accountability What You Will Bring Proven experience (10+ years) in complex IT environments, including architecture, application development, and integration Hands‑on expertise in cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern design patterns Strong experience designing microservices and API‑driven architectures Ability to lead and influence technical decisions across multiple teams and priorities Excellent communication skills—you can translate complexity into clarity for both technical and non‑technical audiences Experience creating clear, actionable architecture documentation and artifacts A bias for simplicity, agility, and iterative delivery Strong analytical thinking with attention to both big‑picture strategy and implementation detail A collaborative, self‑driven mindset—you thrive even in ambiguity Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life. Key Technical Strengths (Preferred) Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated environments Knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and event‑driven architectures Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins) Proficiency with technologies such as Java, SQL, DB2, AWS Understanding of enterprise architecture domains (business, data, application, technology, security) Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) and continuous architecture practices What Success Looks Like Solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards Teams are empowered by clear architecture and strong technical leadership Delivery is faster, more reliable, and driven by modern engineering practices Technology decisions consistently deliver measurable business value Strong collaboration across teams results in better outcomes and customer experiences The base salary for this position is between $119,300 - $169,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e., annual bonus, commission etc.).
