You will provide crucial legal advice, shaping the city's legal landscape and contributing to the effective functioning of public services.What will you do?Pioneering Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research and skillfully apply complex legal principles to a wide array of divergent factual situations, ensuring sound and robust legal positionsStrategic Fact-Finding: Master the art of information gathering through comprehensive discussions with diverse clients and meticulous review of critical documents, forming the bedrock of your legal counselCrafting Foundational Legal Instruments: Expertly draft and review essential legal instruments, including bylaws, intricate legal agreements, policy documents, and authoritative legal opinions that will directly influence city operationsInfluencing Policy through Reporting: Prepare and present compelling reports to both Council Committees and City Council, articulating complex legal matters and advocating for informed decision-makingProactive Risk Management: Take a leadership role in identifying potential legal risks and liabilities, proactively developing and implementing innovative recommendations to safeguard the City's interestsEnforcement and Litigation Advocacy: Act as a key legal advisor on zoning, development compliance, and safety codes to protect community standards.
