Job Title: Software Engineer Job Description The Systems Engineer designs, develops, and maintains internal software tools and business applications that support core operations. This role gathers requirements from business users, translates them into technical solutions, and integrates systems using APIs and automated workflows. The Systems Engineer also supports and administers ERP and business systems, improves operational efficiency through automation, and provides ongoing technical support and training to end users. Responsibilities + Design, develop, and maintain internal software tools and business applications to support operational needs. + Gather requirements from business users and translate them into clear, practical technical solutions. + Integrate systems and applications using APIs and automated workflows to streamline data and processes. + Support, configure, and administer ERP and other critical business systems. + Troubleshoot software, database, integration, and user issues to ensure system reliability and performance. + Automate manual business processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead. + Develop reports and support data analysis initiatives to provide actionable insights to the business. + Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, procedures, and user guides. + Develop training materials and provide technical training and support to end users. + Manage small to medium-sized projects from concept through implementation, including planning, execution, and delivery. Essential Skills + At least 1 year of software development experience. + Proficiency in JavaScript for application and tool development. + Experience with HTML and CSS for frontend user interface development. + Python programming experience, particularly for backend logic and automation. + Frontend UI development experience, including building and maintaining user interfaces. + Strong SQL skills, including writing queries and working with relational databases. + Understanding of data normalization and relational database design principles. + Experience supporting or working with ERP and business systems. + Ability to gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical specifications. + Experience troubleshooting software, database, integration, and user issues. + Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and user training materials. + Experience managing small to medium-sized technical projects from concept to implementation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working in a manufacturing environment. + Hands-on experience supporting ERP systems in a production or business setting. + Experience with Google Cloud Platform and related cloud services. + Experience in software and systems integration using APIs. + Familiarity with business process automation and operational efficiency initiatives. + Experience developing reports and supporting data analysis activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Missouri City, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $33.65/hr.
