SOC 299-500 - Sociology of Mental Illness - Fall 2026 - Saskatoon Face-to-Face Position Summary: SOC 299 is an undergraduate course in Sociology of Mental Illness. It examines the social patterns of risk for mental illness and provides a comparative and critical assessment of sociological, psychological and biological models of explanation and intervention. This sessional lecturing position is for the Fall 2026 semester in Saskatoon. Responsibilities Teach the SOC 299 course on Thursdays 11:30–14:15. Prepare and deliver lecture materials, assessments, and class discussions. Provide one office hour per week for student support. Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner. Perform any preparatory work required before the start date and grading tasks after the termination date, as necessary. Qualifications M.A. in Sociology or a related social science field required; Ph.D. preferred. Demonstrated competence to teach the course subject matter. Demonstrated successful experience in university-level teaching. Employment Details Term: September1–December312026 (Fall 2026 Semester) Work Hours: Thursdays 11:30–14:15; one office hour per week.
