About Us
BGC Weston Mount Dennis & Lawrence Heights Club serves children and youth in the Weston Mount Dennis, Lawrence Heights, and surrounding communities by providing high-quality social, physical, educational, creative, seasonal, and community support programs.
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated individuals to join our After School Program team for the 20262027 school year. Site Coordinators oversee the daily operations of an after-school program serving children 4 to 12 years of age, creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight & Coordination
Coordinate the planning, implementation, and daily operation of the After School Program.
Deliver engaging physical activity, recreation, nutrition, educational, and creative programming aligned with Ontario After School Program Guidelines.
Ensure the program operates in a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped program space.
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Program Coordinators, placement students, and volunteers.
Assist staff with attendance, participant supervision, registrations, incident reporting, and program planning.
Foster teamwork while promoting quality programming and professional growth.
Participant Safety
Supervise participants and staff while maintaining a safe environment.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and behavioural concerns in accordance with Club policies and procedures.
Complete and review accident and incident reports as required.
Administration
Monitor daily attendance and participant registrations.
Contact parents/guardians regarding participant absences when necessary.
Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation.
Manage program supplies and inventory.
Prepare and distribute nutritious daily snacks while following food safety standards.
Communication & Community Relations
Build positive relationships with participants, families, school administrators, caretakers, and community partners.
Communicate program updates, participant concerns, and important information in a professional manner.
Support community partnerships that enhance program quality and participant experiences.
Policy Implementation
Ensure Club policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Address participant behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
Support conflict resolution while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
Other Duties
Attend required meetings, training sessions, special events, and professional development opportunities.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Supervisors.
Qualifications
Required
Degree, diploma, or current enrollment in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child & Youth Care (CYC), Social Service Work (SSW), Recreation, Education, or another related post-secondary program.
Experience working with children ages 412 in a structured environment.
Strong leadership, organization, and program planning skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
Police Reference Check (required upon hiring).
Assets
Safe Food Handler Certification.
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification.
Experience leading sports, arts, recreation, educational, health, or nutrition programming.
Availability
Must be available Monday to Friday between 2:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with occasional additional hours for PA Days, staff meetings, training, and special events as required.
Contract Term
This position will begin on August 31, 2026. The initial contract term is until December 18, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the remainder of the 20262027 school year based on program needs, funding, and satisfactory job performance.
