Senior Underwriter, Professional Solutions Toronto, ON, Canada Job Description We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Underwriter to join our Professional Solutions department. The role blends underwriting and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will evaluate, price, and underwrite risks while also promoting our products, strengthening broker relationships, and driving growth in the Professional Solutions portfolio. Responsibilities Assess, price, and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority. Analyze financial, legal, and operational information to evaluate risk profiles. Structure tailored coverage solutions that meet client and broker needs. Ensure underwriting practices comply with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with broker partners and other stakeholders. Promote our products through meetings, presentations, and industry events. Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market presence. Represent the company as a subject matter expert within the marketplace. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters and team members. Collaborate cross‑functionally with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams. Learn new product lines and coverages as they are developed. Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered. Qualifications 2+ years’ experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O/Cyber/Technology preferred). Bachelor’s degree or post‑secondary education in communication, business, or insurance preferred. Strong broker and market relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience in business development and marketing within the insurance industry. Location & Compensation Downtown Toronto – Hybrid – 4 days per week in office. The expected salary range is $85,000 – $125,000. This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities.
