Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for creating high-quality, professional technical project documentation by translating complex technical and business information into clear, structured, and user-friendly documents. This role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and completeness, supporting organizational digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Translate complex technical requirements into clear, structured, and professionally written project documents.
Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather domain knowledge and technical content.
Synthesize SME input into comprehensive project documentation.
Ensure documentation accurately reflects business needs and evaluation criteria.
Drive accuracy, completeness, and quality of project documents.
Ensure timely and efficient completion of project documentation.
Contribute to advancing organizational digital transformation objectives.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Minimum seven (7) years of experience developing high-quality technical project documents.
Proven technical writing capability for structured, formal documents.
Ability to interpret and translate complex technical requirements into clear written content.
Experience working with SMEs to extract and validate technical information.
Strong analytical skills to synthesize inputs into accurate, cohesive deliverables.
Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices relevant to technology and procurement.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify gaps or inconsistencies in requirements.
Ability to align documentation with business requirements and evaluation criteria.
Proficiency with various technical writing methods, tools, and techniques.
Special Considerations:
Up to 5 days onsite work may be required, subject to hiring manager's discretion.
Experience working within public sector environments is mandatory.
