About the Opportunity
Prepare the Canadian quarterly income tax provision computations and reconciliations including current and deferred tax analysis. Monitor new general ledger accounts and document book and tax treatment. Perform analysis and interpretation of tax treatment for purposes of financial statement reporting, statutory reporting, and internal management reporting.
Manage domestic and provincial income and indirect tax examinations including, but not limited to, gathering and analyzing data in response to Information Document Requests.
Assist with the development of Tax Research and special projects as needed to lower the effective tax rate and optimize cash tax flow for Canada group.
Analyze and report data for Canadian entities for indirect tax compliance reporting, withholding tax returns and annual statistics returns. First level review monthly tax calculations and file federal and provincial indirect tax returns, including SLFI returns. Work cross-functionally to ensure internal systems requirements are achieved to ensure timely filing and accurate tax reporting.
Manage tax audits and liaise with external tax/legal advisors to defend Capital Tax position including documenting the tax due diligence.
Assist in development of transfer pricing methodology supporting the operating model for functions performed by and benefits received by the Capital Canada Group. Team with Legal to develop intercompany service agreements defining terms and then oversee transfer pricing study and domestic intra-group transactions.
About You
CPA designation, MTax, or CPA In-Depth Tax Program (Levels 1–3) completed.
Minimum 6+ years of relevant Canadian corporate tax experience.
Strong proficiency in direct tax compliance and planning
Proven experience operating at the Experienced Manager or Senior Manager level.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $160,000 / year
