Senior Substation Engineer at The Planet Group — NeverHard

Responsibilities (Project substation and transmission line engineering): Serve as the subject matter expert for substation and high-voltage engineering, including physical design, protection and control design, major equipment specifications, and electrical design studies such as power flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination. Provide technical leadership and resolution for all substation-related design issues during project implementation. Support transmission line design, interconnection applications, and related engineering activities as required. Develop design criteria and technical specifications; prepare / review internal engineering deliverables, such as single-line diagrams and electrical studies. Coordinate external electrical engineering resources required to support the projects' workload and supplement internal technical activities. Support technical review of procurement packages, vendor submittals, and evaluations for major HV equipment such as power transformers and HV breakers. Support other departments, including construction and O&M, on substation design matters such as lessons learned and specification changes. Provide project engineering management support on select projects as needed. Actively participate in external technical seminars. Qualification sEducatio n: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering .Experienc e: Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in substation design .Licensur e: Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred .Technical Expertis eSubstation Desig n: Deep understanding of substation and transmission line equipment, design principles, and the full project lifecycle (from preliminary design to "as-built" packages) .Codes & Standard s: Strong command of industry engineering codes and practices to ensure safe, cost-effective, and reliable designs .Softwar e: Proficient with electrical engineering design software such as ETAP, ASPEN, and PSCAD .Leadership & Executio nProblem Solvin g: Capable of independently diagnosing and resolving complex engineering challenges .Teamwork & Mentorshi p: Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional project tasks .Communicatio n: Clear verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational habits .Process Improvemen t: Ability to support and drive continuous workflow improvements #J-18808-Ljbffr
