Job DescriptionJob Description Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings Location: Vancouver, BC Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 + benefits Overview On behalf of our client, a respected engineering consultancy based in Vancouver, we are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their buildings team. This is a key leadership opportunity within a growing structural group delivering a wide range of building projects across the residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use sectors. The successful candidate will take a lead role in project delivery, client engagement, and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to the continued growth of the structural practice. Key Responsibilities Lead the structural design and delivery of building projects across residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments Manage projects from concept design through to construction completion Perform and review structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry systems Coordinate with architects, developers, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines Prepare and review structural drawings, reports, specifications, and calculations Ensure compliance with the BC Building Code and relevant structural standards Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication Contribute to proposal preparation and business development initiatives where required Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering P.Eng. designation in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain) 8+ years of structural engineering experience in building design within a consulting environment Strong experience delivering building projects in BC or similar Canadian jurisdictions Solid knowledge of structural design in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry Familiarity with the BC Building Code and relevant design standards (CSA, NBC, etc.) Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or similar) Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams and clients Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work under deadlines What’s on Offer Competitive salary: $130K – $150K depending on experience Comprehensive benefits package Flexible/hybrid working arrangements Opportunity to take a senior technical leadership role on landmark building projects Clear career progression within a growing structural team Collaborative and supportive consulting environment
